Down in Flames by Samantha Conley

Kristen and Brett had the perfect relationship. They had couldnt stand being away from each other mistakes were made. Brett did something that there relationship could never recover from. Now a year later Kristen finds herself in love again but, this time she will be the one who needs his forgiveness. Down in flames is a thrill ride from beginning to end.

Samantha Conley fills her book with common romance themes and builds upon it. Putting love first, sticking to your standards, and putting pride aside are just a few of the themes explored in Down in flames.

There was an element missing in the book that kept it from being perfect for me. The reasoning behind Brett’s mistake was never uncovered and to bring in more mysteries without first solving the first one was a let down. I also don’t know if I agree with the name of the book but It sort of worked.

The fact that Samantha Conley turned an adult romance into a mystery I have to give her major props. Despite the fact that the charter building wasn’t strong I felt a strong pull for all the characters. I enjoyed that the story wasn’t just told from the two leads. The fact that the male leads actually changed was a refreshing challenge. Down in flames gets an A++ for creativity.

My Thoughts:

I loved Down in Flames over all. There was so much that could have gone wrong that went perfectly well. Kristen our main character didn’t annoy me in her decision making. Something  in which  we all know females tend to do in mysteries. On no don’t go in there hes waiting for you, or they never call the cops because its no big deal.  I would suggest you go into this book without knowing whats really going to happen. I give this book 4/5 stars. Samantha Conley knows her romance and how to tell a good story. Get ready to add another series to your tbr. All questions were not answered leaving the reader wanting more.
