In All She Ever Wanted by Christina Butrum a country boy meets a city girl. This book reminds me of “The Longest Ride”. After meeting Liam a bar owner, Leah questions the future of her love life. At the same time her ex is trying is trying to creep his way back into her life. Liam shows Leah that the past can shape your future in good and bad ways.
All She Ever Wanted is a typical Girl meets Guy story. Uses phrases like ‘there was just something about him’.
“the sun cast its presence passionately in the background, as the day slowly surrendered to the night. “
Christina Butrum’s story was very typical. I was able to predict everything that happened. Leah and Rachel were very immature originally. Leah’s best friend Rachel was a filler character. One minute she was flirtatious, then she had a then again off again boyfriend, then she was engaged, then not.
Liam! Liam was my favorite part of the entire book. He was the ultimate country boy. There has never been a more perfect gentleman.Christina Butrum gave the audience exactly what they wanted. I am glad the main characters didn’t make stupid choices.
When I first decided I wanted to write, these are the sort of stories that came to mind. This would be the type of book I would write myself. I feel like contemporary books have come so far and there were deeper levels that could have been touched. I wanted to hear more about Liam’s life. I wish that the story could have also been told from Liam’s point of view. I just wanted so much more from this book. I do love, love stories. I would read more of Christina Butrum’s work. I give All She Ever Wanted 2/5 stars.
