To help her parents recover from an accident Eadlyn was forced into becoming queen. Right in the middle of her selection (when the future king or queen has to pick between 35 people to become their spouse) the queen must make hard decisions about her country she will rule. She is also being betrayed by someone that she trusted to help her connect to her people. He is the son of old allies from her parents time. Using his popularity with the country will either convince Eadlyn to marry him or the country to not trust her judgements. She must choose her spouse, avoid a scandal, and rule a country.

I didn’t want to give any big spoilers away in the book. I was so surprised that the book was so short. I read it in e book form but, even seeing it in stores it looked bigger. So all the things that I hopped would happen happened. There was really no shock until the end. I was not expecting  the last part. I can’t really say much except that it was anti climactic. I gave it 5/5 stars only because that’s what I gave the other books and this is my favorite series. I wouldn’t push anyone who didn’t like the first three books to read the last two. She could have stopped after the trilogy.
